As you create your music crowdfunding campaign, you need to be absolutely certain that you are not making 2 very common mistakes which almost doomed Alex Ivy’s Kickstarter campaign.
After doing tons of Googling on “how to do a kickstarter” and spending no small amount of time and effort, these mistakes caused Alex’s campaign to fizzle, sunk her into self doubt and panic, and ultimately forced the gutwrenching decision to cancel her first Kickstarter, fix her mistakes and re-launch a second time.
Luckily for her, she was smart and changed her fortunes from failure to success…
And luckily for us, she showed us a great example of what to do and what not to do!
Watch this short, 19 minute video to find out how Alex ditched conventional wisdom to “have an amazing video” (which most musicians misinterpret) and instead created a simple, straight forward video that did it’s job of turning viewers into backers.
Then, after you grab a few pointers on choosing your goal amount, you’ll hear a very important lesson on how your internal dialogue can affect your campaign.
And finally, at about the 16-minute mark, Alex delivers some inspiring advice that every crowdfunding musician should ABSOLUTELY take to heart.
Watch this episode so you can skip the what-not-to-do and go straight to kicking ass (like Alex!) in your music crowdfunding campaign.

Being on the tail end of my own crowd funding project, I want to say watching your videos has given me comfort, love your compassionate look on us being crazy enough to embark on these! Thank you!

This is so helpful and inspirational. I want to see Alex’s video now 🙂 I’ve just released my first single and doing a Patreon at http://www.patreon.com/johnkyle – frankly because Patreon was easy to set up and get started. I wasn’t viewing it as a campaign, but I’m realizing I need to think of it that way. I’m really considering a Kickstarter, because I’m just getting out of the gate and working on my first album of recorded songs. I perform around town and have a small group of fans. Anyway, what I love about this video is Alex talking about the “why” – the cause and the connection. That is so important, and something I will now focus on. Thanks!

You can find her videos on Kickstarter! If you are thinking about doing a crowdfunding project, be sure to sign up for our free mini-course if you have not done so. May help shed some light on things that you’ll want to consider. Should be a big orange button around here somewhere 🙂 Good luck with your first album!
