What happens when you combine an optimally designed campaign with a PR budget and personal reach into a social circle of influencers? The answer might not be what you’d expect.
Terra Naomi recently raised over $50,000 with a well-crafted Indiegogo campaign. But she also took it a bit further than the average campaign by leveraging her social connections to engineer an audacious challenge: if her campaign could raise $100,000 then several social influencers would each donate $100k to charity for a total charitable contribution of $1,000,000 resulting from Terra’s campaign.
With this potentially newsworthy nugget in hand, Terra boldly invested $2,500 in PR and began hustling her tail off, challenging her circle of influence and asking the public to join her crusade.
Her campaign went on to be featured by Indiegogo, tweeted to millions of people and featured in several articles online.
